Short answer: no—you generally can’t claim fuel for the daily commute between home and your regular workplace in Australia.
Exceptions exist if your work is itinerant or you’re regularly moving between sites, your home is a base for work, you must transport bulky tools, or you travel between two workplaces in one day.
If you qualify, you can claim via the cents-per-kilometre method or the logbook method; fuel is counted within running costs under the logbook approach.
Keep a logbook, receipts, and a straight story, because the ATO has a longer memory than your fuel gauge.
When in doubt, check current ATO rules or a tax agent—cheaper than an audit, and far less exciting.
