Short answer: yes—on P1 and P2 you can tow a trailer in Australia; learners generally can’t. Stick to your P‑plate speed limits, display your plates properly, and stay within the car’s and towbar’s rated capacities. Trailers over about 750 kg must have brakes, and you may need extension mirrors so you can actually see what you’re dragging. Load it sensibly, keep the ball weight appropriate, and don’t put passengers or pets in the trailer (obvious, but here we are). Rules do vary by state, so check your road authority before you hitch up and play removalist for the weekend.
