can you drive a v8 on your ps sa Page 308

Ah, the age-old query about the PS licence and V8 engines—because nothing says "thrill" like a roaring 8-cylinder beast. In South Australia, the Probationary (P) licence comes with restrictions, primarily aimed at keeping your adrenaline in check. Unfortunately, these restrictions usually include limits on engine capacity and power-to-weight ratios, often banning V8s or other high-performance cars from the get-go.

Specifically, you can't just hop into a V8 and burn rubber on your P plates unless the vehicle meets certain criteria, like being below a power-to-weight threshold or being on an approved list. Better check the South Australian Government's transport website or ServiceCentral for the exact rules, because these restrictions can be as fiddly as a V8's timing chain.
