Ah, the noble 'car picnic'—a term that sounds like the lovechild of a road trip and a lunch break. If you're contemplating the best way to combine your vehicular adventures with a decent feed, here's the lowdown. A car picnic typically involves packing your grub, hopping in your trusty steed, and finding a scenic spot to dine al fresco without leaving your car. This can be a lifesaver when the weather’s dodgy, or if you prefer your mozzies at bay.

Pro tip: pack a cooler with your favourite snacks and a blanket to spread over the bonnet for that Instagram-worthy moment. Popular spots for car picnics can be found through Tradingpost or CarShowroom listings for locations or even suitable vehicles with ample boot space.

So, get your esky ready, and remember—the best car picnic involves good food, great company, and a car that doesn’t mind a bit of outdoor dining.
