Hunting for car recalls from 2023? There were plenty—across big-name brands and the odd niche badge—covering everything from software gremlins to flammable bits that really shouldn’t be flammable.
The fastest way to get a straight answer is to run your VIN through the manufacturer’s recall checker and the ACCC’s Product Safety Australia database. Dealers can verify recalls and perform fixes free of charge, and they’re obliged to do so.
Keep your contact details current with the brand, because recall notices aren’t much use if they’re sent to your old address. If you’re buying used, ask for recall clearance in writing—saves awkward conversations later.
