Chasing a car report in Victoria? Start with a PPSR search using the VIN—it reveals finance owing, write-off/stolen status, and other title nasties, and costs only a few dollars.

Then run a VicRoads registration check to confirm rego status and expiry and that the plates match the VIN.

If you want extra bedtime reading, commercial reports can bundle odometer, valuation and recall data, but the PPSR + VicRoads combo is the essential homework.

Before you hand over cash for that shiny bargain on Tradingpost, get a pre-purchase inspection and keep copies of the reports—future-you will thank present-you.
