car seat regulations vic Page 7

Ah, Victorian car seat regulations—because apparently, toddlers can't be trusted to fly around unrestrained. In Victoria, it's mandatory that children up to the age of 7 must be secured in an appropriate child restraint or booster seat. The rules are strict: children under 6 months must be in a rear-facing seat, then forward-facing until at least 4 years old, and booster seats from 4 to 7 years. After that, a standard seatbelt does the trick.

Failing to comply can set you back a hefty fine and demerit points, because safety first, tantrums second. For the nitty-gritty and updates, check the VicRoads website or ServiceCentral for guidance and approved products.
