caravan contract of sale Page 4

Selling a caravan? You’ll want a proper contract of sale so no one argues later about who owns the annex or the dodgy fairy lights.

Include full buyer/seller details, VIN/chassis and rego (if registered), make/model/year, serial numbers, and a clear list of inclusions like awning, batteries, gas bottles and spares.

State the condition and any known faults, the sale price and deposit, payment method, date/time of handover, and whether it’s sold “as is” or subject to a roadworthy/safety check.

Add the van’s weight figures (Tare and ATM), compliance plate info, and confirm there’s no finance owing—do a PPSR check and write the reference number on the page.

Finish with signatures from both sides (plus a witness if you’re feeling fancy), photo ID sighted, and a receipt; different states have different rules, so keep it tidy and local.

It’s not courtroom drama—just a clean paper trail that saves arguments and Sunday‑arvo phone calls; Tradingpost buyers and sellers use simple templates like this all the time.
