Towing a caravan isn’t hard; it’s just physics with a side of patience.

Know your numbers: GVM, GCM, tow rating, and towball mass (aim roughly 8–12% of the van’s ATM on the ball) and stay under the weakest limit.

Run correct tyre pressures, use a weight-distribution hitch if the rear sags, and fit proper towing mirrors so you can see more than your own anxiety.

If the van’s over 750 kg, you’ll need trailer brakes; around 2,000 kg typically means a breakaway system — check your state rules.

Keep your speed smooth, leave truck-sized gaps, and if sway starts, ease off the throttle and hold a straight line — don’t fight it.

Do a shakedown trip close to home, and get the rig weighed properly; the scales don’t care about optimism.
