caravan tyre pressure Page 656

Ah, the elusive caravan tyre pressure—often ignored until you’re halfway through the Outback and you’re puffing like a steam train. Most caravans recommend somewhere between 50 to 65 psi (around 345 to 450 kPa), but it varies wildly depending on your tyre brand and load. Too low, and you risk a blowout or premature wear; too high, and you get bouncy rides that feel like a washing machine on spin cycle. Always check the tyre sidewall and your caravan’s manual for the recommended pressure, and remember to adjust for load and temperature changes.

For peace of mind, use a decent pressure gauge and check before every journey at spots like Tradingpost or CarShowroom for replacement tyres or advice.
