A motorhome or campervan is a vehicle before it is a home, so start with the running gear: odometer reading, service history, the age of the tyres and the state of the house battery. Confirm the licence you need as well, because anything over 4.5 tonnes GVM calls for a light rigid licence in most states. Then work through the fit-out. Work out how many berths you need, whether it is fully self contained with a shower, toilet and grey water tank, and how much fresh water, solar and battery it carries if you plan to camp off grid.
Move the minimum and maximum to reshape the price range, and sort by price to see where the value sits. Budget a little beyond the sticker for insurance, the next service and a set of tyres.
