cents per km rate 2021 Page 5

Chasing the ATO cents-per-kilometre rate for 2021? It was 72 cents per km for the 2020–21 and 2021–22 income years, covering fuel, servicing, tyres, rego, insurance and depreciation.

You can claim up to 5,000 km per car with this method—maximum deduction $3,600—and only for work-related driving, not your Bunnings pilgrimage.

No receipts needed for those costs, but keep reasonable records showing how you worked out the kilometres.

Consult official documentation for exact figures.
