change qld licence to victoria

Moved south and brought your Queensland licence with you? To change a QLD licence to Victoria, you generally have 6 months from becoming a Victorian resident to transfer it via VicRoads.

Head to a VicRoads Customer Service Centre (often by appointment) with proof of identity, proof of Victorian residential address, and your current QLD licence.

They’ll do an eyesight check, take a photo, you’ll pay a fee, and you’ll usually skip tests if your interstate licence is current and valid; P‑plate status carries over to the equivalent Victorian stage.

You’ll surrender the QLD card and leave with a Victorian licence—bureaucracy tamed, mostly pain-free.
