check service history of a car Page 41

Want to check a car’s service history without playing detective in a greasy novel? Start by asking for the logbook and invoices—look for dates, kilometres and dealer stamps that actually line up. Many brands keep a digital record; with the owner’s OK, a dealer can print it, and gaps the size of the Nullarbor are a warning. PPSR is great for finance and write‑off checks, but it won’t tell you who forgot oil changes. If things smell fishy, get a pre‑purchase inspection and ring the workshops to verify big‑ticket jobs like timing belts. A tidy, consistent history is worth more than a fresh pine tree dangling from the mirror.
