chery reviews 2023 Page 139

Chery’s 2023 comeback in Australia—headlined by the Omoda 5—leans hard on value, safety kit, and eye-popping styling that looks like it was sketched after a double espresso. Inside, big screens and plenty of tech make a strong first impression, and the long warranty sweetens the deal nicely. On the road it’s perfectly agreeable for commuting, though the engine’s more ‘sensible shoes’ than sprint spikes, and ride/steering tuning still trails the class leaders. Fit and finish has improved heaps, but the dealer network and resale reputation are still warming up—so go in for the price and features, and test-drive to make sure the daily manners suit you.
