China commonly uses plug types A, C and I; Australia uses Type I (AS/NZS 3112). Mains voltage is 230V/50Hz in Australia and 220V/50Hz in China, so most modern chargers (rated 100–240V) only need a plug adapter, not a transformer. Use a proper China-to-Australia adapter that presents an Australian Type I plug; don’t try to jam a Chinese look‑alike I plug into an Aussie socket. If your device has an earth pin, use a 3‑pin earthed adapter; two‑pin A or C plugs also adapt fine to I with the right travel adapter. Inspect the device’s rating plate and avoid anything without proper certification—cheap adapters tend to double as smoke machines. If in doubt, swap the cord for an Australian IEC lead and call it a day.
