“Class of 2013” refers to the cohort who completed their studies in 2013—high school, TAFE, uni, pick your flavour. On resumes and alumni merch, it simply signals you graduated in that year, not your birth year or how many alarms it took to get you to class.
In Australia it’s the same deal: it’s about when the qualification was conferred, even if exams or ceremonies didn’t align perfectly with the calendar. You’ll also see it used as a nostalgic badge for sports teams, clubs, and reunions that promise cake and deliver awkward small talk. If someone says they’re “Class of 2013,” read it as their graduation year—not their horsepower rating.
