club reg victoria Page 5

Chasing club reg in Victoria? You’re talking about the VicRoads Club Permit Scheme, which lets eligible vehicles 25+ years old run on limited-use permits.

You’ll need membership with an approved car club and the required paperwork (often a roadworthy as per VicRoads and your club), then choose 45-day or 90-day annual logbook options.

It’s cheaper than full rego and you’ll get red “Club Permit” plates, but usage is restricted to club events, maintenance, tests and personal recreation—not daily commuting or commercial gigs.

Log every day you drive, carry your permit and club membership, and note permits aren’t transferable if the vehicle changes hands.

Do it right and you’ll enjoy classic motoring without classic bills; do it wrong and you’ll meet fines faster than a hot cam finds a lumpy idle.
