common problems with cupra formentor

The Cupra Formentor is generally a tidy bit of kit, but a few gremlins do pop up in the real world.

• Infotainment hiccups (laggy screens, wireless CarPlay/Android Auto dropouts); software updates usually help.
• Dual‑clutch gearbox hesitations or low‑speed shudder that can improve with adaptations or updated firmware.
• PHEV (VZe) quirks like picky charging handshakes with some home wallboxes and EV‑range swings depending on software and climate.
• Trim rattles in the hatch/parcel‑shelf area and occasional wind noise from mirrors or door seals at highway speeds.
• Over‑eager driver‑assist alerts (lane or front assist) and camera calibration issues after windscreen work.

Most are software‑or‑setup niggles rather than mechanical calamity; keep updates current, follow the service schedule, and check recall campaigns before buying used.
