Living in Australia is like paying for a sun-soaked dream with a side of wallet ache. Expect to shell out about $300 to $500 per week for groceries depending on your tastes—yes, avocado toast is still a luxury. Rent? In cities like Sydney or Melbourne, a one-bedroom apartment can set you back a hearty $400 to $600 per week. Utilities, transport, and dining out add to the fun, pushing the average single’s monthly expenses north of $2,000 AUD. If you’re hunting for bargains or a used car, keep an eye on Tradingpost and CarShowroom to ease the sting. Remember, your lifestyle choices can swing this number wildly, so budget accordingly and don’t blame me when the barista gets your order wrong.
