cx5 vs tucson Page 34

Mazda CX-5 vs Hyundai Tucson is like choosing between a well-cut suit and a comfy hoodie—both great, depends on your vibe. The CX-5 serves up sharp steering and a plush cabin; the Tucson counters with bigger space and generous kit-per-dollar. Warranty’s a draw here (both 5-year/unlimited km in Australia), so look at how you’ll use it: corners or cargo.

CX-5 pros:

• Engaging drive and tidy handling; quality interior finish.
• Broad engine choice, including a punchy 2.5T; strong safety tech.

CX-5 cons:

• Smaller cabin/boot than Tucson; firmer ride on big wheels.
• Servicing typically every 12 months/10,000 km.

Tucson pros:

• Roomier back seat and boot; excellent value and features.
• Comfortable ride; user-friendly tech.

Tucson cons:

• Not as sporty to drive; base engines feel modest when loaded.
• Cabin materials less upmarket in lower trims.
