dealer delivery Page 2

In Australia, “dealer delivery” is the tidy little fee dealers add for getting your new car ready for the road—pre-delivery checks, cleaning, plates, paperwork, the lot.

On a new car, expect roughly $1,000–$3,000+, and occasionally more for premium brands; on used cars it’s often lower or baked into the drive-away price.

It’s largely negotiable, so haggle like you mean it and compare drive-away quotes, not just the sticker.

It’s separate from government on-road costs like stamp duty, rego, CTP and plate fees, which vary by state.

Ask for an itemised breakdown—if it’s just “car wash and vibes,” push back.
