The term "Dino car" refers to the mid-engined sports cars produced by Ferrari under the Dino marque, named after Enzo Ferrari's son Alfredo "Dino" Ferrari. These are not full-blooded Ferraris but rather more affordable, smaller V6 or V8 powered machines. The most famous models include the Dino 206 GT and 246 GT/GTS, boasting a 2.0 to 2.4-litre V6 engine that delivers spirited performance without the hefty Ferrari price tag.

New models are long gone, but on the Australian used market, expect prices to range from AUD 300,000 to over 600,000 depending on condition and originality, with listings often found on CarShowroom and Tradingpost. These beauties are prized for their classic styling and engaging driving experience, but be warned: maintenance costs can be as spicy as their handling.
