Australia isn't exactly the Jurassic Park of the Southern Hemisphere, but it does have some fascinating dinosaur fossils. Most finds come from Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria, with the Gippsland region yielding some of the best specimens. We're talking about fossils of huge herbivores and ferocious carnivores that roamed around 100 million years ago.

Key facts: Australia's dinosaur fossils are generally fragmentary, consisting of bones, teeth, and footprints rather than complete skeletons. The Australian Museum and the Queensland Museum have some of the most significant collections.

For anyone itching to see or buy fossils—good luck; these are mostly museum pieces, not market items. But if you want to spot replicas or learn more, check museums or educational sites.
