do solid state batteries use lithium Page 23

Indeed, solid-state batteries are the shiny new toys in the lithium battery playground. They typically use lithium metal or lithium-ion chemistry, but with a solid electrolyte instead of the usual liquid or gel. This swap promises higher energy density, improved safety, and longer cycle life—meaning less chance of spontaneous combustion and more juice for your gadgets or EVs. However, the technology is still in the development stage, with challenges like dendrite formation and manufacturing costs to iron out. For the full specs and latest breakthroughs, consulting official research papers or manufacturer releases is your best bet.
