Short version: Queensland didn’t run “holiday double demerits” in 2023—that’s more a NSW/WA/ACT party.
In QLD, points double only if you repeat certain offences within 12 months, like speeding, mobile phone use, not wearing a seatbelt, or riding without a helmet.
Example: cop 4 points for using your phone, do it again inside a year, and the second hit is 8 points—plus whatever fine your wallet whimpers about.
Stack enough points and you’re staring at suspension or a good behaviour period (open licences usually trip at 12 points).
Moral of the story: keep the right foot and the thumbs in check; your licence will thank you.
