double demerits wa australia day

Yes—Western Australia runs double demerits over the Australia Day holiday period each year, and they’re not shy about it.

Only the demerit points are doubled (not the fines), which means you can shred your licence twice as fast for offences like speeding, mobile-phone use, red-light running, drink/drug driving, and seatbelt/child-restraint breaches.

The exact start and finish times change annually, so check the WA Police announcement for the current dates before you set off.

If you must test your luck, maybe do it with a backyard cricket slog, not on the Kwinana Freeway.
