drive a tank australia Page 2

Yes, you can drive a tank in Australia—but only on private venues that run supervised experiences, not on public roads for a cheeky Macca’s run. Operators typically use ex‑military tracked vehicles with deactivated weapons, run closed‑course sessions, and start with a safety brief that treats your right foot like a live grenade.

Expect packages from about $300 for a ride‑along up to $1,500+ to take the controls or crush a car, with weekends booking out fast. You’ll need enclosed shoes, zero BAC, and to meet age/height rules; spectators are usually welcome. Noise, dust and vibration are part of the charm—bring ear protection and accept you’ll come home scented like diesel and victory. Laws vary by state, but the gist is simple: tanks stay off public roads and you won’t be firing live rounds.
