About this page

driving test nt practice

Prepping for the NT driving test? Treat it like a bush trip: plan ahead, keep your eyes up, and don’t surprise the wildlife—or the examiner.

Revise the NT Road Users’ Handbook, then practise smooth mirror–signal–shoulder checks, roundabouts, school zones, and lane discipline at signed limits.

Drill low-speed moves—parallel parking, three-point turns, and tidy stop-line halts—until they’re boringly consistent.

Use a roadworthy car with working lights, clear windscreens, legal tyres, and proper L/P plates; no warning lights trying to join the assessment.

Do a couple of lessons with a local instructor for route quirks and feedback, then run a calm mock test without commentary.

On the day: arrive early, breathe, look where you want the car to go, and leave the heroics for the top end of nowhere.
