Short version: Western Australia’s state purchase rebate for EVs ($3,500 for new zero‑emission cars under a price cap) closed on 10 May 2024.
As of now there’s no WA-specific stamp duty or rego discount for EV buyers, so don’t expect the dealer to shower you with taxpayer-funded confetti.
Federal perks still help: the FBT exemption on eligible battery and fuel‑cell EVs under the luxury‑car‑tax threshold can make novated leasing much cheaper (PHEVs only qualify if first held before 1 April 2025).
Running a business or council? WA’s Charge Up grants co‑fund workplace and destination chargers, which is less sexy than a launch-control demo but far more useful.
Bottom line: statewide purchase cash has stopped; national tax settings and WA charging grants are the remaining carrots—check current program dates before you sign.
