In Australia, the everyday EV plug for AC charging is Type 2 (Mennekes); most home wall boxes and public AC posts use it, typically at 7–22 kW.
For DC fast charging, the standard is CCS2, with common speeds of 50 kW and high-power units at 150–350 kW when your car can stomach it.
CHAdeMO still exists for older Nissans and a few stragglers, but it’s fading faster than a cheap beach towel.
Tesla in Australia uses Type 2 for AC and CCS2 for DC; many Superchargers are CCS2, and older S/X may need an adapter.
Some earlier imports use Type 1 (J1772) for AC, usually managed with an adapter to Type 2.
Bottom line: look for Type 2/CCS2 and you’re sorted; check your car’s handbook before buying cables. Consult official documentation for exact figures.
