In 2023, Daniel Ricciardo started as Red Bull’s reserve, then jumped back into a race seat at AlphaTauri mid‑season after Nyck de Vries was shown the door.
He promptly broke a metacarpal at Zandvoort avoiding a McLaren, giving Liam Lawson a cameo while the hand healed.
Ricciardo returned late in the year and snagged valuable points—most memorably in Mexico—reminding everyone the honey badger still bites.
Not a full season, but enough fire to set up his 2024 run with the rebranded RB outfit.
