ford mondeo problems australia Page 2

Shopping a used Ford Mondeo in Australia? Good choice—quietly excellent to drive—but like any family hatch, a few gremlins like to tag along.

• Dual‑clutch (Powershift) models can shudder or hesitate; insist on smooth take‑off and evidence of fluid changes or mechatronic work.
• Diesels: DPF and EGR clogging if the car does short trips; look for forced‑regen warnings and excessive fuel use.
• Electrical bits: SYNC infotainment freezes, reversing camera dropouts, and door‑lock actuators acting up.
• Wear items: front control‑arm bushes and end links, engine/trans mounts, and tailgate struts.

Buy on condition and service history, check for outstanding recalls with Ford Australia, and get a pre‑purchase inspection—cheap insurance before the school run.
