ford ranger issues 2023 Page 5

The 2023 Ford Ranger is a cracking ute, but like any fresh platform it’s had some early-run gremlins—more niggle than nuclear.

Most owners report smooth sailing; the rest mostly battle software and trim quirks rather than exploded diffs.

• Infotainment (SYNC 4A) freezes, lag or random reboots; occasional reverse camera glitches.
• Driver-assist systems a bit overzealous or in need of recalibration, especially after windscreen work.
• Occasional rough or hesitant shifts from the 10‑speed auto, more noticeable when cold or towing.
• Diesel owners who do lots of short trips can see frequent DPF regens and related complaints.
• Squeaks/rattles from the tub or cabin on corrugations; panel alignment fuss.
• Trailer brake/12V wiring compatibility gremlins for some setups.

Keep software up to date, check for recall/service campaigns, and lean on warranty—your dealer has seen it all before. A thorough pre-delivery inspection and an extended test drive on your usual routes work wonders.
