ford supercars parity

“Parity” in Supercars is the dark art of keeping the Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro evenly matched under the Gen3 rules—because nobody tunes in for a foregone conclusion.

In 2023, Ford teams argued the Mustang was on the back foot, prompting a series of parity tweaks across aero and engine mapping.

Supercars ran deeper testing (including wind‑tunnel work) and issued updated aero packages late in the year to close the gap.

Results improved, but the debate didn’t vanish—parity is a moving target as teams develop and tracks change.

Short version: less conspiracy, more continual housekeeping, with officials trying to keep the show honest and the lap times tight.
