The Ford Territory 2.7 TDCi (the PSA/Ford V6) is strong and torquey, but like any diesel, it has a few party tricks you’d rather it didn’t.

• EGR and intake soot build‑up leading to rough idle, limp mode and smoky cold starts—regular long runs and periodic cleans help.
• Intercooler and throttle‑body hoses splitting or popping off under load; look for oil mist and whistling, fit quality clamps/hoses.
• Timing belt service due by time and kilometres; delaying can be wallet-exploding—do water pump and idlers while you’re in there.
• ZF 6‑speed shudder or flare if the fluid’s “lifetime” claim was believed; fresh fluid/filter usually restores civility.
• Turbo actuator or VNT sticking from soot, causing limp acceleration; gentle highway heat cycles and proper servicing reduce the risk.

Keep quality oil in it, stick to diesel-rated fuel filters, and it’ll tow the caravan without a Greek chorus of warning lights. If symptoms persist, a scan with Ford/IDS-level diagnostics will save guesswork and grief.
