ford territory electrical problems Page 869

The Ford Territory can be a comfy bus, but a few electrons like to go walkabout. Before you start blaming the alternator, know the usual suspects and save yourself a weekend of swearing.

• ICC (centre screen/audio) glitches, dead backlighting, or random resets.
• Parasitic battery drain, often traced to the ICC/Bluetooth modules or tired batteries.
• Tailgate wiring loom breaks causing dead wipers, number plate lights, or a lazy lock.
• Door lock actuators failing or intermittent window switches/regulators.
• ABS/DSC warnings from wheel speed sensors or a testy ABS module.
• Alternator/voltage regulator issues and crusty earth straps causing weird gremlins.

Start with a battery/charging test (aim for ~14V running), check grounds, inspect the tailgate harness for cracked wires, and scan for codes before parts-cannoning. A good auto sparky who knows Territories can save you money and sanity.
