ford territory front suspension noise Page 2

If your Ford Territory’s front end sounds like a cutlery drawer on corrugations, you’re hearing the usual suspects ageing out.

These wagons are notorious for chewing through front-end consumables on Aussie roads.

Diagnose by when it happens: clunks over speed bumps point to bushes or sway-bar links; creaks while steering suggest strut top mounts; a growl that rises with speed hints at a wheel bearing.

Common culprits to check:

• Lower control arm bushes and ball joints
• Sway bar link pins and D-bushes
• Strut top mounts and front shocks
• Front wheel bearings (and CVs on AWD)
• Loose or worn steering rack ends/tie rods

After repairs, get a wheel alignment and use decent parts—cheap bits go sloppy faster than a servo meat pie.
