Ford Territory won’t start? Start with the boring bits before invoking wizardry.

• Battery and earths: you want around 12.4–12.7 V at rest; loose or corroded terminals and the main engine-to-chassis earth strap are common culprits.
• Starter/ignition: a single click (solenoid) or silence often means a tired starter or failing ignition switch; check the starter relay too.
• Crank/cam sensors and fuel: no crank signal or a dead fuel pump/relay gives lots of cranking, no firing—check fuses and listen for a 2–3 s pump prime at key-on.
• Security/selector: immobiliser or key transponder dramas, or a misaligned PRNDL switch (try Neutral), can quietly veto starting; watch for rapid security light flashing.
