Hunting for free factory tours in Melbourne? The short answer: they happen, but not on a set weekly roster—think occasional open days rather than daily bookings.

Keep an eye on Open House Melbourne programs, council/community announcements, and manufacturers’ own “open day” posts—your best bet for legit, no-cost peeks behind the curtain. Breweries, distilleries and roasteries sometimes run complimentary walkthroughs, though plenty now charge a modest fee, so read the fine print. Expect weekday sessions, closed-toe shoes, and age/safety rules; book ahead when there’s a form, because clipboard people love a list. If nothing free lines up, low-cost tours are common and still cheaper than parking in the CBD. In short: possible, just not “every Tuesday at 10.”
