Road-trip sanity savers? Try number-plate cricket (vowels are boundaries), 20 Questions with a “no brand names” twist, and I Spy on hard mode: no colours allowed. Add an audio quiz from your playlist, an alphabet hunt using roadside signs, and Car Karaoke where the driver is judge, jury, and occasional executioner. For kids, deploy the Quiet Game—first noise buys the next servo snack; ruthless, effective, delicious. Keep prizes small (stickers, a cone of chips) so the back seat doesn’t unionise. Low-tech, high-giggle, and no batteries required.
