getting dents out of cars Page 7

For small, shallow dings with intact paint, a paintless dent repair (PDR) tech is your best mate—quick, tidy, and often $120–$300 per panel in Australia.

DIY? A cup plunger can pop out broad, shallow dents; glue-pull kits work on smaller creases, but go gently or you’ll turn a hiccup into a bodywork opera.

Avoid heat-gun/ice party tricks unless you like cracked clear coat; modern paint doesn’t take kindly to thermal shock.

If the paint is chipped, you’ll need filler, sanding, primer and colour/clear—budget more time and more dollars.

When in doubt, get a quote from a PDR specialist or panel shop; they’ll tell you if it’s a 20‑minute fix or a bumper-off saga.
