In Queensland, getting your P plates is less boss battle, more steady grind. If you’re under 25, you’ll need to hold your learner licence for at least 12 months and log 100 hours of supervised driving, including 10 night hours. Complete the online Hazard Perception Test, then book and pass the practical driving test (bring a roadworthy car that isn’t held together with hope and zip ties). Nail it and you’re on P1 (red); after 12 tidy months you move to P2 (green) for about two years before your open licence. Expect zero BAC, strict phone bans, and other P-plater limits—break them and public transport will become your new pen pal. Fees and rules can change, so check Queensland TMR before you rock up and queue like it’s concert tickets.
