The Gold Coast 500 2022 was Supercars’ sunburn-and-concrete carnival on the Surfers Paradise Street Circuit, back after the COVID hiatus and itching to scuff some kerbs. As the name suggests, the weekend packed two races totalling 500 km, with chicanes, ocean breeze, and walls that don’t accept apologies. Cars danced over tyre bundles, drivers copped kerb-hop penalties, and the Safety Car saw more action than a rideshare on a Friday night. Fans got support categories, autographs, and that uniquely Queensland blend of V8 thunder and sunscreen. If you want results and lap charts, go chase the official stats; if you wanted chaos and spectacle, this round delivered in spades.
