Gran Turismo is the sort of underdog racing flick that treats a PlayStation as a pit lane and somehow gets away with it.
Based on Jann Mardenborough’s real leap from sim rig to GT grid, it’s directed by Neill Blomkamp with enough kinetic camera work to make your popcorn understeer.
David Harbour grumbles gloriously as the grizzled mentor, Orlando Bloom sells the corporate dream, and Archie Madekwe keeps the visor-down earnestness intact.
The script is predictable and the product placement could lap Bathurst on its own, but the racing sequences slap—engines bark, edits bite, and you feel the speed.
It’s corny, shiny, and genuinely fun if you’ve ever missed a turn because you were admiring tyre smoke.
Not high art, but as a weekend rev-up, it’s a clean stop-and-go.
