Gumtree messages not showing? Before declaring a grand conspiracy, try the basics: log out and back in, update the app, or use a different browser with ad‑blockers off.
Check any “Requests”, “Archived” or filtered threads, and make sure your listing isn’t expired or paused—no ad, no chat. On mobile, clear the app cache; on desktop, clear cookies and site data, then refresh like you mean it.
Confirm your email/phone is verified and that neither party has blocked the other—awkward, but it happens. If it’s still playing hide‑and‑seek, grab the Ad ID, timestamps and screenshots, then contact Gumtree support; sometimes it’s just an outage, and patience beats panic.
Listing your ad only takes a few minutes, and most categories are free.
