gwm cannon power upgrade Page 2

Chasing more grunt from your GWM Cannon? Most run a 2.0‑litre turbo‑diesel at about 120 kW and 400 Nm, with newer 2.4‑litre variants around 135 kW and 480 Nm.

A quality ECU remap or well-calibrated piggyback typically adds 15–25% torque, while a freer-flowing exhaust and better intercooler keep EGTs tame when you’re towing. Don’t expect magic from a pod filter; it mostly adds whoosh.

Big caveats: tuning can void warranty, muddle emissions compliance, and annoy insurers unless it’s certified and disclosed. Use reputable dyno tuners, get before/after plots, and keep a revert-to-stock map handy.

ADR-compliant kits with documented gains beat pub claims every day, and remember that cooling and transmission health matter as much as peak numbers. More torque is brilliant; keeping it reliable on a blazing run up the Bruce Highway is even better.
