haval jolion review 2023 Page 101

The 2023 Haval Jolion is the budget small SUV that turns up with a cheeky grin and a features list longer than a Bunnings receipt.

Its 1.5‑litre turbo petrol and dual‑clutch are fine for the daily grind, while the Hybrid smooths everything out and sips less around town.

Cabin space is generous, the big touchscreen serves Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and safety kit like AEB and lane‑keep comes standard, so the value case is strong.

Ride comfort is decent, steering is light, but the DCT can stumble at parking speeds and the petrol can feel a bit breathless when hustled; the Hybrid is calmer.

GWM’s 7‑year warranty sweetens the deal, though resale and dealer polish still trail the Japanese and Korean usual suspects.

If you want maximum kit per dollar, it’s cracking; if you crave premium finesse, keep expectations sensible and you’ll be chuffed.
