have a safe driving Page 16

Ah, the classic plea to keep it safe on the roads—a noble wish indeed! Safe driving boils down to common sense, a bit of patience, and obeying the rules that keep the chaos at bay. Always wear your seatbelt—no exceptions—keep your eyes on the road, and resist the urge to text your mates mid-drive. Remember, in Australia, speeding fines can burn a hole in your wallet faster than a stubby disappearing at a barbie. And if the weather turns nasty, slow down and increase your following distance; slick roads are the enemy of all motorists.
