headlight laws wa Page 8

Ah, the thrilling world of Western Australia’s headlight laws—because apparently, your car’s eyes need rules too. In WA, your headlights must be used from sunset to sunrise, and any time visibility drops below 100 metres, such as in fog or heavy rain. You’re required to have both dipped headlights on, not the full beam, unless you’re on an unlit road with no oncoming traffic. Flashing your high beams is generally frowned upon unless to warn of danger. And for the curious, using non-standard colours or excessively bright lights can land you a fine—Australia doesn’t want your car doubling as a disco ball.
